Grass-fed Beef on an Organic Ranch

Snowball Ranch is certified organic for both the ranch land and cattle by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers).  Our beef are raised organically, but the USDA National Organic Standards stipulates to be labeled organic,  the meat must also be processed at a certified organic meat processing plant.  As of today, an organic meat processing plant does not exist in the State of Nevada, so to comply with the National Organic Standards,  we market, label and sell our beef as grass-fed.

Snowball™ cattle are bred from homegrown black Angus stock.  From birth to 24 months, the cattle spend their entire lives freely roaming the mountain meadows and ranch pastures or fed a mixture of grass and alfalfa hay raised organically on the ranch.  

• Our cattle receive no antibiotics, added growth hormones or additives of any kind
• Grain free.  Fed only grass which is organically grown
• Year-round access to the outdoors
• Humanely raised

In 2022, our cows will be bred to Wagyu bulls, so we will soon be able to offer our customers Angus/Wagyu beef.
